GLASGOW – Matthew Gene Vaughn, 23, Glasgow, passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015.

The Barren County native was a son of Danny Vaughn Sr. and the late Lela Mae Huff Vaughn.

He was a graduate of Glasgow High School, where he was class president each of his four years there, and was a member of the drum line of the Glasgow Scottie Band. He was a volunteer member of East Barren Fire Department and was a former 911 Dispatcher at the Glasgow Police Department.

He is survived by his fiance Jordon Chapman, father, Danny Vaughn Sr; a brother, Danny Vaughn Jr; a sister, Julie Mae Vaughn; two nieces, Hannah Danielle Mosher and Autumn Danyelle Vaughn; a nephew, Joshua Thomas Mosher; along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and numerous friends. 

Matthew was preceded in death by his mother, Lela Mae Vaughn. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Saturday at the funeral home
